
As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to advance, its ability to generate human-quality content has become increasingly impressive – and heavily debated.
Despite Google stating its positive angle on things back in 2023, whether AI-generated content is now acceptable, and if it harms SEO, is still a concern for some. In-line with its overall ethos, Google rewards high-quality content – however it’s created. Using it to create a tonne of content to spam the internet with is where things become a problem.
And it’s these spammers, like armies of real people once did, who will be penalised for littering the internet with useless click-bate (and now propaganda) material generated by AI instead of people. So don’t do that. Otherwise, Google’s angle on AI is:
“AI has the ability to power new levels of expression and creativity, and to serve as a critical tool to help people create great content for the web.” Google.
So, what’s all the fuss about? Is it because content creators are fearful of being replaced by robots? Well, there is that.

But the hard truth here is that it’s part of our new era, like the Industrial Revolution saw millions of workers retired from manual labour as automated production lines and machines rendered them all but useless. However, other jobs were created as we entered that era. This is one of those times, and it’s already referred to as the digital era, the AI Revolution, and we’re in it, like it or not.
Adapting is and Always has been Key to our Survival
The question for creatives could be: how can I adapt? And the answer is: embrace the technologies at your fingertips – we create, and now we can do it super-fast, bringing our overactive imaginations into form, using a tool that can keep up with our thoughts.
Personally, I know for a fact I would struggle to find a human who could type out the thoughts in my head in real-time and articulate them in a way I asked them to. Besides, artificial intelligence isn’t anything new, (it’s older than me) it’s just taken a while to step into the limelight. And it’s made one hell of an entrance!
